Talking to children about the climate

The climate, nature, and the health of our environment are constantly in the news. And what you hear is usually negative. That can make you scared, worried, or sad. What helps then is taking action yourself. Not giving up, but looking at what you can do.

Who is this poster for?

This poster is for anyone who wants to have a nice chat with children about what they can do to help the climate.

For children, it's often a bit more difficult. They have no control over many impactful issues. They can't vote yet, they don't decide on grocery shopping, and they don't choose which bank their parents use. Yet, children can do a lot. Often, it's about taking a different approach to everyday things. Don't ask for or give a new gift, but a secondhand one. Don't throw away food, but create a new meal with it. Treat them, but without plastic packaging and trinkets.

How can you use this picture?

This poster is a starting point for talking to children about those small changes. Small changes that can have a big impact. Not only through the action itself, but also by inspiring others to make sustainable choices, the normal choices. This poster can help children take action and maintain hope for a bright future.
