Why does your child sometimes explode over a trifle? Why is it that one day you can handle everything and the next you can't handle anything? And did you know that you can also fly out the window because you're simply too enthusiastic or fanatical?

This poster is a visual interpretation of the Window of Tolerance . It helps children (and their parents!) understand how their internal energy savings pot works. We don't just look at "annoying" or "difficult" behavior, but at what the brain needs to get back into the green zone. Is the battery empty? Is the brain a bit confused? Or is the tension simply too much?

This poster is for parents, teachers and coaches who want to talk about emotions, self-regulation and resilience in a positive, non-judgmental way.

* You can also print an A3 PDF on A4 paper using a standard A4 printer. When printing, select "fit to paper size" or a similar setting in the settings. The wording will be slightly different for each printer. Because A3 and A4 have the same aspect ratio, the A3 PDF will fit perfectly on A4 paper. Of course, everything will be much smaller; I designed the image for A3.
